AEVO trainer aptitude exam (Germany)

Anyone in Germany who trains apprentices must show teaching and training skills, usually with the trainer aptitude exam (AEVO) at a chamber of commerce or crafts. This page explains the exam and lets you practise with free original case-based questions in German, with English translations.

Who needs it

Trainers must be personally and professionally suitable, and professional suitability includes these skills. There are no admission requirements and no compulsory course; equivalent exams can lead to an exemption.

Allowed materials and legal status

In the written exam you may use plain law texts without commentary, such as BBiG, JArbSchG and AEVO. The exam follows the legal status the chamber sets for the exam date.

How to prepare

FreeExamPath writes its own practice questions from German law (AEVO, BBiG, JArbSchG, BetrVG). They are not chamber exam tasks, and FreeExamPath is not affiliated with any chamber or the DIHK. Each of our questions has exactly one correct answer.
